It is not difficult to answer why English is an important language. You know the answer if you are looking for a job, preparing for the interview in a big corporation, or in defense, planning to launch your own start-up, dreaming to study abroad, or simply learning effective communication skills.

English is important if you belong to any of the above categories. English opens up the gate of opportunity through which you enter the world of your dreams. According to Statista, in 2021, there were around 1.35 billion people worldwide who spoke English either natively or as a second language, making English the most spoken language in the world.

And for aspirational people who wish to prosper and grow and enjoy a high standard of living, America offers huge opportunities. Indian Americans are the second-largest immigrant group in the United States. And last but not least, it is the simplest and easiest language as compared to any other foreign language. Although there could be many reasons why English is important, I am mentioning five benefits of learning English language I feel are very important. English is important if you are looking for high-paid jobs in big MNCs. Most of the big companies in the world are from English-speaking countries. 

You need effective communication skills in English to get there. And it is not only about cracking interviews. English is important for surviving in highly competitive spaces.

If you are starting a new business and want it to grow unhindered, you need to communicate your product and services to the audience.

English is important for your education and career. Most of the top universities in the world are located in English-speaking countries like the USA, UK, etc. These are highly reputed institutes and offer high-quality education.

Students look up to these universities to build a solid foundation for their careers. To be able to get admission to these universities English is important because you have to pass exams like IELTS, TOEFL, etc which assesses your English language skills. 

IMPORTANCE OF ENGISH IN SCIENCE:

Another reason why English is important is its significance in research and scientific development in the field of science. Any scientific idea or research needs to travel across the globe for peer-to-peer analysis and authentication.

Scientific papers are predominantly published in English. It is the universal language of science from studying in school to working in scientific research which leads to progress in science and a better understanding of scientific terms and concepts.
